Privacy Policy: Hercules

Effective Date: November 2025

1. Introduction and Core Principle ๐Ÿ”

Welcome to Hercules: Strength Log, a product of Spider Inc. ("we," "our," or "us").

**Our Core Principle:** We prioritize your privacy. **We do not collect or store your personal fitness data, which remains exclusively in your personal Apple iCloud account.** We do, however, use third-party services (Google Firebase) to collect **anonymous usage and crash data** to ensure the app is stable and to improve its functionality.

2. Data Collection and Storage

2.1. Information Not Collected By Us (Your Fitness Data)

Because Hercules uses **iCloud for synchronization** and does **not** require a user account system, we **do not** collect, store, transmit, or process any of the following user data:

  • Workout data, weights, reps, or progress metrics.
  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as name, email address, or device ID **that can be linked to your fitness data.**
  • Location data.

**In short, Spider Inc. has no access to your fitness data.**

2.2. Data Collected for App Improvement (Third-Party Processor) ๐Ÿ“Š

We use Google's **Firebase** platform for crash reporting and anonymous usage analytics to maintain stability, fix bugs, and understand feature popularity. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in improving our product.

**Data Collected by Google Firebase:**

  • **Crashlytics:** Device specifications (model, OS version), application state at the time of a crash, and crash stack traces. **No personal identifiable information (PII) is included in crash reports.**
  • **Analytics:** Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics, such as app sessions, screen views, and interactions with in-app elements (e.g., button taps).
  • **Crucial Note:** This collected usage and crash data is anonymized and **not** linked to your identity or your private fitness records stored in iCloud.

2.3. iCloud Sync and Data Security

Hercules uses Apple's **Core Data with CloudKit/iCloud Private Database** to provide data synchronization across your devices.

  • **Data Control:** Your data is stored within your private iCloud account, a system entirely managed and secured by Apple.
  • **Our Access:** We cannot view, access, or restore any data stored in your private iCloud database. The data is encrypted and tied to your Apple ID.
  • **Deletion of Data:** If you delete the Hercules app, your data will **remain in your iCloud Private Database** to ensure synchronization if you reinstall the app. To permanently delete your data, you must manually manage and delete the app's data stored in your iCloud settings (typically found under Settings > Your Name > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Hercules and select "Delete Data").

3. Communication and Third-Party Services

3.1. Correspondence

If you contact us directly via email for support or feedback, we will retain your email address and the contents of your message solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. This information is **not** linked to any usage data.

3.2. Standard Anonymous Analytics (Apple)

We also rely on standard, anonymous diagnostic and usage data collected and aggregated by Apple via App Store Connect Analytics (e.g., device model, basic app usage statistics). The sharing of this data is entirely controlled by you through your device's iOS/iPadOS Settings under Analytics & Improvements.

3.3. Third-Party Data Processors (Google Firebase)

We utilize Google's Firebase services (Crashlytics and Analytics) for app improvement. Google acts as a data processor for this anonymized information.

**Data Processing Disclosure:** The data we send to Google is used only for the internal purposes outlined in Section 2.2. For details on how Google handles data collected through Firebase, please refer to the Google Privacy and Security documentation for Firebase.

**App Tracking Transparency (ATT):** We **do not** use Firebase Analytics to link user data with data from other companies for the purposes of targeted advertising. Therefore, we do not request permission via the ATT prompt for cross-app tracking.

4. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, nor do we have access to their iCloud-synced fitness data. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal data from a user under 13, we will delete that information immediately.

5. International Privacy Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

We strive to adhere to global privacy standards, including the European Unionโ€™s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

  • **Right to Access/Portability:** You have full access to your fitness data via your device and control over its syncing via iCloud.
  • **Right to Deletion:** Deletion of your fitness data is performed by you, the user, through your device's iCloud settings as described in Section 2.3.
  • **Right to Object to Analytics:** Although the analytics data we collect via Firebase is anonymized, you can opt-out of the collection of usage and diagnostic data by adjusting the relevant settings within your device's operating system (e.g., iOS/iPadOS Settings under Analytics & Improvements).

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date." You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
